A trauma is an event, series of events, or set of circumstances that is experienced to be physically or emotionally harmful or life-threatening with lasting adverse effects on the mental, physical, social, emotional, or spiritual well-being. Although we are all vulnerable to trauma, we are all also able to identify, manage, and recover from traumatic experiences.
